We had such a great kick off last week! Great turn out, lots of newcomers, fabulous food courtesy of Whole Foods Vienna, and we got to meet Greg Graf, our new accompanist. If you missed the fun, we have pictures up on our facebook page.
And now that we are well and truly ready to sing, Rehearsal One of the season is tonight, 7:15 pm, Tuesday, September 3, 2013. And as always, it will be an open rehearsal. Chances are you already know what that means. But in case you do not, here’s the skinny:
We’re a non-audition choir.
Which means you get to audition us, not the other way around. Instead of auditions, we do a quick and simple screening process. Our director, Jennifer Rodgers Beach, will do a vocal placement to see your range and timbre to see where you best fit in the choir. You do not have to prepare a piece of music. And it’s find if you don’t read music. We’re looking for your ability, desire, and commitment to sing. If you have those three, and you like the sound of us in your life, we have a fit!
We have lots of opportunities for non-singers.
Ticketing, set-up, tear down, ushers, programs, advertising and marketing outreach, community events….a lot goes into our season. So if you don’t sing, please do come by anyway. We’ll find something fun for you to do!
We meet weekly during the season.
We meet Tuesdays, 7:15 pm, at Church of the Holy Comforter – there is ample and free parking in the church’s parking lot. Come in the main double doors, and follow the noise to your right.
If you already know you want to join us, please do take a minute to look over, download, fill out, and bring the membership forms with you. And yes, please do take a look especially if you’re not sure of what joining means. You’ll hopefully find most of the frequently asked questions answered in those forms. And if not? Email us! We’re at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will find answers for you!
Come sing with us – it promises to be another great season of music in the VCSverse!
