Great post, Sohini! And it’s nice to have that description of the communication. There is so much that goes back and forth between the chorus and me while the singing is going on. I know that we conductors sometimes hear folks muse about what we do – aren’t we really just waving our arms around and keeping time? It’s such an exchange and I sometimes feel that waving my arms is the least of it!
